A wide array of scientific advances are helping people live longer lives, reports CNN.com, and now specific technologies – ranging from highly responsive and effective artificial hips and knees to senior-friendly Nintendo Wii games – may start contributing to the average U.S. life expectancy, which recently hit an all-time high of 77.9 years.
Plus, advancements in transferring donated tissue is enabling a relatively new surgical technique call biological scaffolding. The procedure appears to optimize the body’s ability to accept and respond to artificial joints and other surgical procedures. See the CNN.com report:
